An evening (or two) in Celebration Orlando

For us no trip to Orlando would be complete without at least one evening spent in the small town of Celebration. Originally developed by the Walt Disney Company in the mid 1990’s it is about 10 minutes from downtown Kissimee.

Celebration is a beautiful waterfront town with picturesque streets and gorgeous houses. Some would say it’s too perfect as there is no litter to be seen and very strict rules such as only being allowed to park one way on a street (we in fact got a parking ticket for parking our car in the wrong direction!). But we love it.

Celebration Town Center has a lovely variety of shops, restaurants, and some small businesses along the promenade situated by a beautiful lake along with a few hotels.

The restaurants in the town centre range from Kilwins’, an ice cream and chocolate parlour, to Ari Sushi, a sushi restaurant. We have been to a few of the restaurants and so far haven’t had a bad meal but we always finish our evening at Kilwin’s where the children stand looking longingly at the huge variety of chocolate goodies on offer.

The waterfront shops are very sweet and “boutiquey” with the fantastically titled “Woof-Gang Bakery and Grooming” offering everything the pampered pooch could possibly want. There is also a Publix Supermarket as you enter Celebration along with a couple of chain restaurants.

If you have a car it’s worth just having a drive around looking at the pretty perfect tree lined streets and idyllic houses (some are enormous!). At night Celebration comes alive with the waterfront lit up and people walking along the lake. Children play in the fountains and there are many opportunities for keen photographers to take beautiful shots.

If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of City Walk or Disney Springs we highly recommend a trip to Celebration – you wont regret it!
